One of Florida’s Best Sidelined After Heroic Game

You wouldn’t have known it by how he played, but No. 4, James Cook of South Florida’s Pasedena Panthers 13U team played two weeks ago in a grudge match against the Pompano Tigers with a foot fracture.  That didn’t stop him from helping his team to a 33-7 victory over the Best Youth Football League’s championship team formerly of the SFYFL.

Cook, the younger brother of five-star high school recruit Dalvin Cook (committed to the University of Florida) is looking to walk in the foot steps of his older sibling.  He’s already showing the toughness, getting out and performing without letting anyone know of the pain he was enduring.

Coaches say that he will be back in a few weeks from the injury and are encouraged about the prospects of him returning to the team this season to help the Panthers make a playoff run.  It’s disappointing news for Cook and his team but he’s upbeat about his injury and is looking forward to returning to the gridiron.
