2016 National Middle School Lineman Challenge

Posted in:

The 2016 National Middle School Lineman Challenge is set to begin Friday May 27th and run through Saturday May 28th in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  The host school is again Cardinal Gibbons Catholic and the host hotel is the Sheraton Suites Ft. Lauderdale at Cypress Creek.

This year, instead of an open registration for our lineman, we are inviting all players to increase the competition level in this national Middle School Showcase.  Football Hotbed’s National Middle School Showcase event spawned the Lineman Challenge which allows just offensive and defensive lineman to come together and compete.  This includes defensive ends (DEs), and in-line blocking Tight Ends (TEs).  We want to put together the finest collection of middle school football talent in the country on one national stage.

Last year’s event featured over 20 lineman from all over the Southeast, this year we expect lineman from over 10 states across America.  There are three grade level competitions between 6th, 7th and 8th grade lineman.  The Football Hotbed National Middle School Lineman Challenge is subsequently the only off season showcase exclusively for lineman and exclusively for middle school age football players who are playing the game at a high level.  Lineman receive all the awards, all the media attention and all of the exposure without any other athletes having the ability to make them less of a priority.
