National Signing Day is now less than a month away and the top recruits we will begin to make their final visits before signing on the dotted line. This may be the last chance for schools to make lasting impressions for the most coveted recruits in the country.  Here’s a look at the top recruits due to take visits this weekend and beyond.

Uncommitted

Patrick Surtain, Jr. CB (American Heritage, Plantation FL) – American Heritage High School is setting up for their most anticipated signing day in school history.  Surtain is considered the best uncommitted cornerback in the country and is set to visit LSU this weekend where he has been favored to sign for months now.  His father and former high school head coach Pat Surtain is from Louisiana and would be playing at a home away from home if he signs with the Tigers.  Surtain is also set to visit Alabama next weekend.

Tyson Campbell CB (American Heritage, Plantation FL) – The five star corner will visit Athens to visit the Bulldogs this weekend and will join his teammate Surtain in Tuscaloosa next weekend.  Miami still remains the front runner at this point.

Andrew Chatfield DE (American Heritage, Plantation FL) – The explosive playmaking defensive end decommitted from Ohio State earlier this season and is being courted by the big three of Florida (Miami, Florida, and Florida State).  Miami seems to be ahead in the race at the moment with a visit scheduled for this weekend.

Issac Taylor-Stuart CB (Helix, San Diego CA) – Defensive back continues to be one of the most sought after positions during this recruitment cycle.  The five star is set to visit USC this weekend.  The Southern California product is also scheduled to visit Georgia and Tennessee before signing day.

Olaijah Griffin CB (Mission Viejo, CA) – The four star cornerback from the Los Angeles area received late offers from Florida State and Clemson this week and the Seminoles and Tigers are pushing for visits this month.  USC and Tennessee were the presumed front runners before the late push from the two ACC schools.

Nicholas Petit-Frere OT (Berkley Prep, Tampa FL) – The 6’6” five star tackle from Tampa is set to visit Ohio St right before signing day but has strong suitors from Florida, Alabama and Notre Dame who are all trying to land visits before signing day.

William Barnes OT (Apopka, FL) – The massive 6’4, 325 pound prospect from Apopka is set to visit North Carolina this weekend and Ole Miss next weekend and Auburn right before signing day.  There is no telling where the four star will land with Florida also in the mix.  Offensive line mate Ed Monitlus is also visiting Auburn with Barnes February 2nd.

Maurice Washington RB (Trinity Christian, Cedar Hill TX) – The MVP of the Under Armour All American game in Orlando put the nation on notice with his 8 carry for 69 yards and three touchdown performance.  Nebraska will host Washington amongst others this weekend. Washington also received an offer from Tennessee this month and will visit Knoxville on the 19th.  He then heads to Ole Miss on the 26th.

Javontae Jean-Baptiste LB (Bergen Catholic, Oradell NJ) – The four star linebacker has received offers from Ohio State and Texas A&M just this week.  He has a visit to Nebraska this weekend followed by a visit to Columbus next week. Should be a busy month for the 6’5” 215 pound defender that seemed to lean to Virginia Tech before the new year.

Committed

Miles Jones RB (American Heritage, Plantation FL) – Vanderbilt commit Miles Jones is set to visit Nebraska this weekend as new head coach Scott Frost scrambles to put together a strong recruiting class.  Jones was set to sign with Vanderbilt during the early signing period but backed off after Nebraska showed interest.  Frost completed an undefeated season as UCF’s head coach in 2017.

Nesta Silvera DT (American Heritage, Plantation FL) – Long time Miami commit is keeping his options open but still remains a strong commitment to the U.  Recent departures of RJ McIntosh and Kendrick Norton from Miami’s D-Line to the NFL will present an opportunity for Silvera to start right away.  It’s been reported that Silvera plans to visit Ohio State,Tennessee and Miami in January. He is scheduled to visit Florida January 19th.
