Nation’s Top 8th Grader Gets Major BCS Offer

Fresh off of leading his all-star team to a National Championship and prepping for high school, Gwinnett County 8th grader Jamyest Williams earned his first major BCS offer this week.  Williams is the unamimous selection by Football Hotbed as the No 1. 8th grader in the country.

His father James Williams made the announcement on his Facebook page:

“Congrats son Jamyest Williams on picking up your offer today from Georgia Tech….#GOD FIRST#FAMILY SECOND#SCHOOL THIRD#FOOTBALL AFTER…IN THAT ORDER!!!!!”

The offer was extended after Williams’ attended a (FSI) Fellowship Sports Incorporated sponsored event.  Though the first offer from Williams was officially Tennessee State.  The Georgia Tech offer from his hometown team was the second offer in one week for the rising 9th grader who will likely play WR and DB at Duluth High School this upcoming year.

Jamyest’s all-star teammate and the No. 2 player in the nation, DeAngelo Gibbs, was offered by Baylor last week.
