(Rockledge, FL) – The Rockledge Rookies are winning games and not turning back. Two weekends ago they beat West Melbourne in a defensive battle. The Raiders overcame 3 touchdowns that were called back in the 1st half .
Defensive s tars for the Raiders were Terry Suggs, Lanar Tonney, Rian Black, Mike Baumgarder and Malik Lewis.
Offensive stars for the Raiders were OJ Ross, Jordan White, Dennis Gilbert and the entire o-line. OJ Ross scored the only touchdown on a 50 yard run in the beginning of the 3rd quarter. Rockledge Raiders edged out West Melbourne 6-0 against a top ranked South Conference team. They will most likely meet up in the playoffs again in the next few weeks for the chance to win the BCYFCA Super Bowl Title.
Last Saturday, the Raiders took on the Suntree-Viera Lightning for the North Conference title. During halftime the score was 7-0 as the Raiders turned up the pressure and scored 3 more touchdowns in the second half. OJ “The Juiceman” Ross scored all of the touchdowns for the Raiders. The defense only gave up six 1st downs and created 5 turnovers. The Rockledge Raiders came out on top with a 25-0 victorious win over Suntree-Viera Lightning.
The Rockledge Raiders will face the Merritt Island Mustangs this Saturday at Mitchell Ellington Park.
