Rockledge Raiders Sweep the South Beach Seahawks


(Rockledge, FL)– The Rockledge Raiders made a clean sweep last Saturday during their home games against the South Beach Seahawks.

The Raiders  Rookies just came off a big win over Port St. John Rockets the week before crushing them 27-0.  In that match-up OJ Ross broke open a big time run after getting hit in the backfield for a 10 yard loss. Ross managed to break away from the tackles and ran 60 yards for a Raiders touchdown. Raiders Coach Alex Goins commented on the Port St. John Rockets match-up ,“Our Team defense just took over. We were swarming all day.”

The Raiders defense continued to play with intensity during their game against the South Beach Seahawks. Their defense only gave up five 1st downs. When asked what their team goal was for this season, Coach Alex Goins replied “We played 35 kids. That’s our #1 goal is to develop everyone not just score big points.” Malik Lewis, Mike Bamgardner, Lanar Toney were all big time performers on the Raiders defense.

Coach Goins also described their offense performance last week. “Offense did alright. We fumbled three times but were able to overcome them with the help from OJ “The Juiceman” Ross. We also had great throws and catches by Jordan White and Rian Black. South Beach played a great game but our defense was ready for the win. We have a bye week this Saturday so we will prepare for a big conference game against the Titusville Terriers on the 29th.

Rockledge Raiders swarm the Port St. John Rockets

Along with the Rookies 34-0 victory, the Raiders continued their sweep over the Seahawks. Junior Rookie division 37-0, Mighty Mite 33-13, Pee Wee 44-6, Bantam 32-0, Junior 24-13 and Senior division 28-14. The Rockledge Raiders will have a bye week today with the exception of their Bantam, Junior and Senior divisions. The Raiders Bantams and Seniors will take on Suntree-Viera Lighting at Viera while the Raiders Juniors will take on Bayside Bears in Titusville.
