The Inventors of ‘Swag’ Host the Gwen Cherry ‘Swag Boys’

Coral Gables, Fla– The Miami Hurricanes coaching staff hosted the Gwen Cherry Bulls Mitey Mites team, better known as the “Swag Boys” Sunday in an effort to reach back out into the community and expose youth football players from the inner city to the inner workings of a college football program at an early age.

Nearly 25 youngsters from the Gwen Cherry Optimist youth football program were invited along with coaches by head football coach Al Golden and offensive coordinator James Coley and running backs coach Hurlie Brown to tour the campus.  The theme of their message was “My Life is My Choice.”

The kids were given jerseys and were even honored by the staff at UM as they donned t-shirts that read “Swag” representing the tag line generally associated to the University of Miami for their play on the field during their five national championship runs.

Listen to the interviews with the coaches and view the rich media to get a sense of the experience.  It’s a Hotbed World!
