The 8th grade semi-final games were pretty uneventful as team Broward County easily rolled to a 31-7 win over Indiana in the first National Semi-final game. The team was lead by dynamic running back and athlete Nayquan Wright who scored on the ground and in the air. Wright was accompanied by his teammate Daniel Carter who filled in at running back on the night also scoring a rushing touchdown. The most interesting thing about Carter’s performance throughout this tournament is that during his regular season, because of league rules about weight limits, he was not allowed to play offense and advance the ball at all. He scored nearly 10 touchdowns as a defensive player, forcing turnovers and making interceptions and returning them for touchdowns. He’s among the nation’s most underrated 2019 players.
