NATIONAL MIDDLE SCHOOL QB INVITATIONAL

Ft. Lauderdale, FL — Football Hotbed, the nation’s leading multi-media platform for youth football, is set to host the first ever National Middle School QB Invitational Showcase on May 1st and 2nd of 2015 in Ft. Lauderdale.

The host is the Cardinal Gibbons Catholic High School located at 2900 NE 47th St. Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308.  The purpose of this event is to spotlight the nation’s rising quarterback talent in middle school before they arrive at the high school ranks and to properly evaluate and foster competition between the elite quarterbacks in 6th, 7th and 8th grade.

The three grade level winners of the competition will be labeled the nation’s best in their respective classes.

Football Hotbed, in conjunction with Head coach Drew Phillips of the Phillips QB Academy have teamed up to create a dynamic middle school showcase event that is unlike any the nation has ever seen.  Because of our national platform and our most recent All-American game, Hotbed attracts the nation’s best youth football athletes from coast to coast.  Our quarterback showcase promises to bring out the very best talent at the position and they’ll all be in the same place at once.

Additionally, the showcase will take place on the second day of the spring evaluation in South Florida where nearly every division one college football program sends recruiters to pick from the Hotbed of High School football athletes.  The timing and the platform couldn’t be any more ideal for these budding stars at the sports most important position, quarterback.

To receive an invitation to this Middle School QB Showcase event, you must be considered in the top 15% of quarterbacking talent at your position in the country by Football Hotbed, the nation’s leading multi-media platform for youth football.  In 2014, Football Hotbed launched and completed an eight city All-American combine series that went to every region of the country.  Hundreds of athletes participated in the combines, dozens were named youth football All-Americans and over 110 athletes from 10 different states came to Jacksonville, FL in January of 2015 to play against the best athletes in their class in our first ever All-American game.

Now, Football Hotbed in conjunction with the Phillips Quarterback Academy are teaming up to recognize the best athletes at the most important position.  We stake our claim of being the best in youth football because we are the most well-researched youth talent scout and evaluation consortium around.  To make certain of this, we are employing five regional QB coaches from across the nation to bring their expertise and their middle school athletes along with them to Ft. Lauderale for the showcase.

Instead of giving an award based on film or opinions, we’ll award the nation’s best Middle School QB award in 6th, 7th and 8th grade to those who compete on the field and in the classroom to show why they are the best.

The National Middle School QB Invitational will include the following exercises:

Classroom evaluation:

-Film breakdown (testing a quarterback’s knowledge of what they see on tape)

-Scheme and audibles (making the right calls and reads in the game begins with your academic understand which we’ll test in the classroom on Day 1 of the Invitational)

On field evaluation:

-Full combine (40, 5-10-5 shuttle run, broad jump, power toss)

-On field ‘situational drills’ test and evaluation

-Best four athletes per grade make the showcase to determine the overall winner.
