Fins Notebook: Dolphins Depth Tested Due to Injury

Fresh off a come-from-behind 20-17 victory over the Atlanta Falcons this past Sunday, the Miami Dolphins returned to practice Wednesday, keeping an eye on a handful of injured players at key positions.

The most significant injury of them all may have been center Mike Pouncey, who left the Falcons game and was spelled by backup Jake Brendel.

“He did good. I’m sure there’s some things that he wants to clean up. A couple of things that, overall as an offense, that we did some things really well, and then we did a few things where we probably got away with it,” said Dolphins head coach Adam Gase of his back up center Monday.

Pouncey was not seen practicing during the media viewing period Wednesday but was present.

As for wide receiver DeVante Parker, he’s still out.

“He proved to me that he’s got a toughness level and a pain tolerance level that I hadn’t really heard about or seen before,” said Gase Monday of his star receiver.

In his absence, Jakeem Grant will get the reps in addition to his special teams role.
