MIAMI GARDENS, FL— The Miami Dolphins (6-7) are still mathematically alive for the NFL Playoffs and they played like it Monday night, at home against New England. A 27-20 victory over rival New England (10-3) keeps their dim wild card hopes alive.
It was one of the more spirited outings of the season for the Dolphins who controlled the game from start to finish. Big plays were the key and quarterback Jay Cutler was the icing on a very sweet ‘cake’ night for the Dolphins.
Huge 3&7 conversion for Jay Cutler after spinning out of a sure sack. Landry scores on the next play and the Dolphins are up 13-7 at home against the Patriots.

Jay Cutler had perhaps his best night as a Dolphin. The ease he had in the pocket and more importantly the accuracy of his throws were on full display tonight.
That’s about as good as you can play a deep ball on defense. Xavien Howard, with a big play to give the Dolphins the ball after the Patriots got the first possession of the second half.

The defense also did their part. Brady took his shots but he ultimately he was picked off twice. He finished the night 24 for 43 with 233 yards a touchdown and two interceptions.
Dolphins lead New England 20-10. Cutler is having an amazing day. Two huge plays on offense and defense and this crowd has been silenced. Yes, about half of them are NE fans if you can believe that.

Early on, it looked the the Dolphins may blow out the division’s second best team.
SCORE UPDATE: Dolphins 27-10 over New England. 8 plays 82 yards 4:21 on the scoring drive. Pass from Cutler to Landry. This team is really playing well tonight. #Dolphins

When the Patriots drew closer as you’d expect for a team of their caliber, Miami answered the call.
Just a huge sack on 3&8 from the Patriots own 15 yard line with just over 10 mins left in the game. Patriots have to Punt, #Dolphins D answered the call.
