Where The Top Uncommitted 2019 Recruits Stand

National signing day as of last year has become a two round event.  This year, round one of the national signing period is December 19th through the 21st.  The first day, Wednesday, is when college football fans will begin to judge if their school is recruiting at a high level.  During the summer, from June 24th to July 24th, is what is known as the NCAA dead period. During this time frame coaches are not allowed to have face to face contact with recruits, nor can a recruit have official visits on a college campus.  The next five months are crucial to a programs success so this gives time for recruits to gather their thoughts of where they want to play next year.  Today on Independence Day, John Dunmore decided to commit to Penn State.

John Dunmore, Wide Receiver, Chaminade-Madonna, Hollywood, FL Athleticism, hands and speed are all the traits that the promising receiver possesses.  Had a nice showing at the Rivals Five Star Challenge this week. He has taken visits to Penn State, Michigan, and Auburn.  Florida State was clearly his “dream school” for himself and his family but apparently Dunmore wants to start a new legacy in State College.

The premier athletes of this class are plug and play kids that will dominate on fields, elevate their teammates level of play and provide optimism for fanbases.   Here are some preeminent five and four star prospects according to Rivals and 247 Sports that are undecided for now and have plenty to think about before decision day.

Khris Bogle, Defensive End, Cardinal Gibbons, Fort Lauderdale, FL The four star prospect had an impressive showing at Rivals Five Star Challenge earning Defensive Lineman MVP.  Bogle will be apart of a team that will be favored to win their district and state class in 2018. Miami seemingly has the inside track, but Auburn is also high on his list.

Trey Sanders, Running Back, IMG Academy, Bradenton, FL Built to be your workhorse or speed running back from the word go.  Tremendous agility to make tacklers miss and can turn on the jets with the best of them.  The five star is looking to make a decision somewhere in the middle of the season. The former Alabama commit still has the Tide on his radar as well as the Florida Gators.

Ishmael Sopsher, Defensive Tackle, Amite, LA Very agile for his size at 6’4” 330 pounds.  Controls blockers with his strength and eats up space at the line of scrimmage.  Texas, Texas A&M and Florida are of high interest to the big fella who is looking to visit all three campuses soon.  He had a strong showing at The Opening in Texas this week against the other top recruits in the country.

Clay Webb, Center, Oxford, AL The five star Alabama target has yet to reveal a top five and will make his decision in December.  He plans to enroll in January with his new school and get a jump start on Spring camp wherever he decides to go. Looked good but did not blow people away at The Opening in Texas this week.  He recently visited Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and LSU.

Kayvon Thibodeaux, Defensive End, Oaks Christian, Westlake Village, CA Considered by many the top recruit in the nation revealed his top five this week.  Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Oregon and USC are his top schools. His production of 99 tackles, 20 sacks and 28 tackles for loss last year is surely to translate to the next level.

Darnell Wright, Offensive Tackle, Huntington, WV Widely considered the best tackle in the country visited Tennessee four times and is a heavy lean toward the Vols, but he is nowhere near making a decision.  Really quick feet and can drive opponents away with power. Ohio State also has the youngster high on their list.  He made the final 5 at The Opening Finals in Texas.

Evan Neal, Offensive Tackle, IMG Academy, Bradenton, FL Absolutely ready for the next level.  Neal has strength and technique beyond his years and has tremendous upside.  Neal dominated at The Opening Finals in Texas this week and is well on his way to adding a fifth star.  This seems to be a two horse race between Miami and Alabama to land the young talent.

Tyrique Stevenson, Defensive Back, South Dade, Homestead, FL Stevenson turned heads everywhere he has been this off-season.  He seems to be one of the best players on the field and viewers anticipate what he will do next with every play.  He made plays all over the field at The Opening this week and outran many of the top receivers in the country.  Many anticipate Stevenson to stay home with the Miami Hurricanes. He did however visit Alabama, Georgia and Florida in June.

Keon Zipperer, Tight End, Lakeland, FL One of the best tight ends in the country has a great knack for locating the ball in the air and securing it to the ground.  He was yet another player that was impressive at The Opening scoring three touchdowns. Oklahoma and Alabama are the undoubted front runners unless the big three schools from Florida can make a late push.

Kenny McIntosh, Running Back, University School, Davie, FL McIntosh displayed his agility at The Opening making several people miss in open space.  Miami has been in constant contact with the four star running back, but he still plans to visit Oklahoma, Florida, LSU, Georgia and Stanford.

Round 2 of the national signing period is February 6th.
