The Football Hotbed Spring Break Tour, sponsored by the Hotbed World Foundation of Miami, FL, was an absolute success. Fourteen student athletes toured the southeastern region of our glorious nation visiting UCF, Florida, FSU, Auburn, Georgia and the University of Miami.
The bus featured some “heavy-hitters” and a few up-and-coming talents that’ll make an impact at the collegiate level once proper development and due process settles in. The hit of the tour was the stop at one of HBCU’s most historic and successful programs, located in Florida’s capital of Tallahassee. Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) played great hosts to the Hotbed visitors as each student athlete on the tour received a (verbal) offer, for several athletes on the tour it was their first.
The tour included two national recruits in 5-star quarterback Dante Moore, 6’2 195 lbs. from Martin Luther King High (Detroit, MI) and fellow 5-Star wide receiver, Jalen Brown out Of Gulliver Prep ( Miami, FL ). Brown’s listed as one of the fastest players in the nation in both the 100 and 200 meters.
The trip also included in the Class of 2023 4 star Ruben Bain 6’2 250 lbs. Defensive Lineman out of Miami Central as well as former Teammate 3-star Lamar Seymore, a dynamic playmaker at wide receiver who recently transferred to crosstown rival Miami Northwestern High. Seymore was offered by Auburn University’s Head Coach Bryan Harsin and Hall of Famer and WR coach former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Ike Hillard while on the visit to Auburn.
Also, Caleb Bryant a Mississippi Native standing at 6’3 267 lbs. is a versatile Defensive Lineman. Bryant, who attends Vicksburg High garnered an offer from The University of Miami on the last day of the tour. During the trip, he picked up an offer from The Pac 12 Champion Utah Utes.
The Class of 2024 did not lack any talent as a pair St. John Bosco Braves were on the bus also. Marcelles Williams, a 5’11 170 lbs. cover corner with smooth hips and disciplined eyes is an off-man technician. Teammate Kyngston Viliamu-Asa who plays OLB and strong safety at 6’2 210 lbs. Williams Picked Up Offers from Auburn, FSU and The University of Miami during the tour. He stated while being interviewed on the tour that he will give equal attention to both East Coast and West Coast Institutions.
Kobe Jones, A 6’3 305 lbs. defensive tackle and offensive guard in Georgia met us along the way as we made a stop at The University of Georgia, the home of The National Champs. Kobe can see his recruitment take off at either position. He’s a fan favorite, a local kid with great character who’s very respectful and well mannered. He attends John’s Creek High School.
Cam Hayes, a linebacker standing 6’0 220 lbs. from (Flowery Branch HS GA) is second year Varsity starter at Mike Linebacker. He’s got a knack for reading plays. Hayes is one the team’s leading tacklers on the defense. He’s a hard-hitting, solid-build, linebacker who is still growing. He has the ability to play all 3 linebacker spots and has excellent cover skills. He’s a sure hit and a must have on recruiting boards. Adding to all of that, Hayes has that linebacker ‘look’ as he’s thick-necked, thick thighed and a formidable sized skull made for ramming the opposition. Hayes received a lot of attention while on the Plains of Auburn University, having extensively spent one on one time with Linebacker coach Roc Bellantoni.
THE UNHERALDED
CLASS 2023:
Jeremiah Augustine 6’5 180 lbs WR out of Jupiter Christian (FL) who has thrust himself onto the recruiting boards of each school during the tour. His size and skill set can benefit any offense in any scheme. He’s a true down the field threat and a huge impact within the red zone. He would be a great addition at Wide Receiver or even Tight End. His hands measured in at 9 inches wide, which is a testament to his great ball skills and high point abilities.
David Jones 5’11 lbs. cornerback who plays for Madison Prep Academy in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It’s Hard Not To Compare Him To The Infamous Honey Badger Tyrann Mathieu The Two Have a similar skill set, similar Build, and Actually Look Alike Jones Is a Slept On Defensive Back That’s on The Boards Of Many But Not Much Movement In Terms of schools Actually Offering a simple message To All Schools Simply Put “CUT ON THE TAPE” He’s a interception Machine Who’s Always in The Right Spot Creating turnover opportunities…
Angelo Morales 6’1 TE/WR who Plays for Tru North Classical Small School Located in Southwest Miami-Dade, FL. With a summer of development and by adding weight, he can actually thrust his recruitment into an unforeseen place. That’s a huge testament to the importance of participating in such a campus tour like the one put together by Hotbed VP of Scouting, Brandon Odoi.
The Future QB’s
To Have The #6 overall Player In The Nation #3 Pos. (Dante Moore) become your mentor for a week is a huge blessing. Class of 2024 Trey Heddon 6’3 210 lbs. (Tampa Catholic) gained a great bit of knowledge on the trip from consensus 5-Star Dante Moore. But If I’m being honest, his presence was a thing of beauty. He seemingly stood out at each university for the way he talks and his moxie. He’s a dual enrollment kid that will graduate early. He recently participated in the Elite 11 regional Combine and has an offer from USF. With some development to his body, he can make himself a hot commodity come his senior season. Auburn head football coach, Bryan Harsin, took a great liking to Heddon and that’s a relationship I see forming very soon.
Ryan Huff C/o 2025 Greenwood HS In Bowling Green Kentucky The Freshman Checked In At 6’2 185LBS Takes Over The Reigns At QB for His High School And His Participation On The Trip Is a Another Case Of how important The Hotbed Tour Was For These Athletes Huff may have had an Tougher path was it not Brandon Odoi and his Guidance This Past Week He’s Now On The Recruiting Boards Of 7 Power 5 Universities ( UF,U.M,FSU,Auburn,Louisville,UGA,UCF )
A strong Spring Showing And We’re Now Talking about One of the Top QB Recruits In His Class He Has That QB “IT” Factor. The Way He Talks and How He Carries Himself During Interviews Add That to The Fact That he’s a Gym Rat and Very Cerebral It’s Almost a Sure Thing He’ll Finish His High School Career as a potential Elite 11 participant at minimum He’ll sign FCS and have a stellar Collegiate Career
