Fort Lauderdale, FL– The linebacker position is perhaps one of the most important positions on the football field as college football continues to evolve. With pass-first offenses like the Air Raid concept becoming so prevalent, backers not only need to have the traditional size and physicality, they need to be able to move well and run. With no shortage of talent in the Broward County area of South Florida, meet 6 foot 1, 195-pound sophomore 2026 linebacker Demitris Mincey of Fort Lauderdale’s Dillard High School.
He’s got good strength numbers evidenced by his ability in the weight room. He’s squatting over 355 pounds and benching over 255 pounds as only a sophomore.

Look forward to more from Mincey, whose dad is the head coach at Dillard High’s varsity football team. He had good showings at both the Rivals and Under Armour camps this off-season.
