On Sunday afternoon, a plethora of high school football programs flocked to Coral Gables to win over the coaches and seize the University of Miami 7-on-7 Championship.

“What can brown do for the you” should be the Raiders new slogan on offense, as offensive coordinator Eddie Alford, utilized Yulkeith and Jalen Brown top-end speed for multiple scores throughout the tournament. Brown, a class of 2023 prospect, was extended a verbal scholarship via defensive coordinator Ephraim Banda after his play on both sides of the ball. Brown is also the second fastest 100 meter sprinter

The competition wasn’t a walk in the park, but a youthful Gulliver Prep football roster, won convincingly, led by rising sophomore quarterback Carson Haggard (recently offered by D1-FCS William and Mary) who displayed a no hitter performance, passing for 30 touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Gulliver Prep steamrolled pool play defeating American, Warner Christian Academy, and Miami Northwestern. The Raiders closet game was 34-14 to paint a clearer picture of their overall dominance.

Tight end Diego LaMonica and slot receiver Christian Olazaval both contributed with their share of scores and clutch catches.

Rising senior cornerbacks Anton Hall, Ulises Sarria, and Amin Hassan all played a vital role on defense. Hall and Hassan took away the wide outs and Sarria led the team in interceptions. Glades Central offensive coordinator will always remember those three names.

Class of 2022 linebackers Jayvon Only and Travious Lathan played lights out controlling the middle of the field. The defense also benefited from the play of long and rangy (6-0, 150) cornerback Antonio Smith, a class of 2023 prospect whio recorded an interception and is someone that has a bright future ahead of him.

Gulliver Prep underclassmen roster is extremely talented and their victory on Sunday, proved they’re ready to compete in most challenging classification in the state of Florida.
