tour the southeast united states best football programs March 19th-23rd, 2026

Football Hotbed’s Southeast college tour is an invite‑only, spring break recruiting experience designed to give serious high school football prospects direct exposure to major programs across the South, SEC, and ACC. Over nearly a week on the road, varsity‑level athletes who aspire to play at the Power 4, FBS, or FCS levels travel by bus to visit multiple campuses in states like Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi, often stopping at schools such as Miami, Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Georgia, UCF, and others along a rotating itinerary. Players tour facilities, meet or are seen by college coaches, and learn what it takes academically and athletically to compete at elite levels, transforming spring break into a focused recruiting opportunity rather than just a camp or combine.

Participation typically requires prospects to submit film and academic information in advance, with Football Hotbed curating a prospect list so every college on the route has a chance to evaluate attendees’ tape, making each stop a targeted exposure event rather than a generic campus tour. The tour fee generally covers lodging and transportation for the multi‑day trip, while athletes are responsible for their own meals and spending money, which helps keep the experience structured but accessible for families investing in recruiting. Over the years, Football Hotbed reports that athletes from many different states have joined these Southeast tours, using them to jump‑start or accelerate their recruiting process by seeing multiple programs in a single, efficient trip.

Football Hotbed’s Texas college tour is an annual spring trip that takes high school football prospects on a nearly weeklong journey through top programs in Texas and Oklahoma, giving them rare behind‑the‑scenes access to college football at the highest level. Designed for varsity‑level athletes with aspirations to play at Power 4, FBS, or FCS schools, the tour typically starts in Oklahoma City and then moves through a packed itinerary that has included campuses such as Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, North Texas, TCU, SMU, Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas State, Sam Houston State, Prairie View A&M, and the University of Houston. At each stop, players see facilities, experience the campus environment, and have their film and information shared with coaching staffs via a curated prospect list, ensuring that every school has evaluated them in advance—creating meaningful exposure beyond a standard campus visit.

The tour fee generally covers hotel lodging and ground transportation for the duration of the trip, while athletes are responsible for their own meals and personal spending money, which helps keep the experience structured and predictable for families. Over the years, Football Hotbed has hosted players from multiple states—including Texas, Florida, California, and Kentucky—using this Texas–Oklahoma route to efficiently showcase prospects to many programs in just a few days and to teach them what it truly takes, on and off the field, to succeed in college football.

THE MINIMUM GPA REQUIRED FOR THIS TOUR: 3.8 overall (weighted or non-weighted)

Our first annual All-Academic & Ivy League Tour comes years after beginning our first tours across the Southeast and throughout Texas.  Those tours have proved to be a great way for athletes who desire to play football at elite programs, to get an up-close look at the facilities, meet and network with coaches and truly get an understanding of what it takes to play on those elite levels of Football.  We’ve had athletes from over ten states across the United States participate in tours with us throughout the southeast and Texas. This year, we want you.

Without any tours set up for high academic performing student-athletes, we thought it necessary to enter this space and provide some needed guidance and help parents and kids desiring to put their degrees first and the opportunity to search for the best program fit among the nation’s elite high academic programs.   Our tours afford athletes the ability to move in and out of schools quickly and efficiently while maximizing exposure and reducing costs as we visit as many as 12 programs during each tour and no less than 8 over five days and four nights.

FAQs

Why should I consider doing a college tour with Football Hotbed?

You can tour nearly any college by reaching out to a coach or member of the athletic department of any of the Division One college football programs that interest you.  Most times, you’ll be accommodated and given a basic facility tour.  If you’re a talented athlete based off your film, you’ll be afforded a bit more access.  Taking a tour with Football Hotbed gives you access despite your skill level.  It allows you to go behind the scenes and learn what it truly takes to play at the highest levels of football.  The biggest reason, however, is that every time we enter a school, we provide a prospect list first.  Your film is usually attached, and participation almost guarantees each school we visit will have evaluated your film.  This is a priceless guarantee. Good film leads to opportunities that can lead to scholarships. In the Ivy League, good film and elite grades can lead to acceptance into America’s most prestigious institutions.

What does the tour price cover?

Tours are a nearly weeklong experience with lots of travel and expenses.  Our tour fee covers room and transportation.  Each athlete is responsible for his own meals and spending money for snacks and any souvenirs. Tour participants are also responsible for covering the costs of any college camps we attend.  While camping is NOT required, it’s encouraged on dates we’ve identified as camp dates for athletes.
