Welcome to a game designed to give student athletes the recognition they deserve for begin elite in the classroom and on the field. Introducing, America’s first Academic All-American Game presented by Football Hotbed. The inaugural event will take place in South Florida during New Year’s week 2025 in order to acknowledge and provide exposure to the classes of 2025 and 2026 who are excellent leaders, students and football players.
Football Hotbed in an effort to assist young men in accomplishing their dreams of playing college football, is once again hoping to fill a void in the world of recruiting for qualified student-athletes with elite academic qualifications. We are looking for varsity-level players who are starters or key contributors in order to recognize them as Academic All-Americans.
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?
First, we are looking for student athletes and families who together have the goal and desire to play at the Division 1 or 2 college level or at competitive high-academic D3 football programs across the country. Each athlete is required to carry a 3.5 unweighted GPA and must confirm this with an unofficial transcript from his attending institution.
Secondly, an athlete must be a formal member of his varsity football team and a regular contributor. He must have film to demonstrate his athletic ability and a transcript confirming his academic ability. Each athlete must also submit a formal resume to show their civic attributes and extracurricular activities outside of the classroom and off the field.
Lastly, we want young men who want to compete. We are looking for athletes who need a platform like Football Hotbed, the media coverage our games receive (social media, live-stream, photos and video highlights) and the access to hundreds of college coaches and a network of academic success coaches that can guide them through the rigorous process of applying for Ivy and other High academic schools.

THE MINIMUM GPA REQUIRED FOR THIS DISTINCTION: 3.5 (non-weighted)
Our game is an outgrowth from our Summer college tour. We do three tours annually but for the first time in 2024, we decided to tour some of America’s best colleges and universities and check out their football programs.
Our first annual All-Academic & Ivy League Tour comes years after beginning our first tours across the Southeast and throughout Texas. Those tours have proved to be a great way for athletes who desire to play football at elite programs, to get an up-close look at the facilities, meet and network with coaches and truly get an understanding of what it takes to play on those elite levels of Football. We’ve had athletes from over ten states across the United States participate in tours with us throughout the southeast and Texas. This year, we want you.
Without any tours set up for high academic performing student-athletes, we thought it necessary to enter this space and provide some needed guidance and help parents and kids desiring to put their degrees first and the opportunity to search for the best program fit among the nation’s elite high academic programs. Our tours afford athletes the ability to move in and out of schools quickly and efficiently while maximizing exposure and reducing costs as we visit as many as 12 programs during each tour and no less than 8 over five days and four nights.
FAQs
Why should I consider doing a college tour with Football Hotbed?
You can tour nearly any college by reaching out to a coach or member of the athletic department of any of the Division One college football programs that interest you. Most times, you’ll be accommodated and given a basic facility tour. If you’re a talented athlete based off your film, you’ll be afforded a bit more access. Taking a tour with Football Hotbed gives you access despite your skill level. It allows you to go behind the scenes and learn what it truly takes to play at the highest levels of football. The biggest reason, however, is that every time we enter a school, we provide a prospect list first. Your film is usually attached, and participation almost guarantees each school we visit will have evaluated your film. This is a priceless guarantee. Good film leads to opportunities that can lead to scholarships. In the Ivy League, good film and elite grades can lead to acceptance into America’s most prestigious institutions.
What does the registration price cover for the Academic All-American Game?
Each athlete will receive game film that can be uploaded onto Hudl, and game jersey and pants to participate in the All-American game. Also, the athlete will receive a special token, marking their distinction as an All-American. We will also fill the week with impactful speakers who can give you crucial tips about the application process, former Hotbed athletes who have attended Ivy and other high academic programs and played football. There will also be an Entrepeneur and networking workshop.
