Footballville Allows Athletes To Make-A-Play In The Next Wave In 7vs7

Posted in:

If you are looking to refine your skills and create exposure for yourself to college coaches in the off-season, performing at a high level in seven on seven tournaments is one of the best ways to do so.  Seven on seven tournaments have grown rapidly over the years and All-Star squad sharpen their football skills in a non-contact format.  Make-A-Play 7v7 is in its inaugural year and is making waves across the state of Florida and beyond. The tournament is promoted as a nationally and will culminate with a championship June 29th and 30th Saturday/Sunday at Ellis-Methvin Park in Plant City.

Teams compete in a series of tournaments with first and second place teams qualifying for the championship tournament.  The tournament powered by Footballville Nation, a multimedia company founded by Darrell Streeter, allows teams to compete on 14u, 15u and varsity levels.  Footballville based out of Miami, FL has been in existence for several years and has been built to create exposure for young football players.

“The Footballville brand has grown over the years,” said Streeter.  “We wanted to go in the direction of camps and seven on sevens. It goes right along with the Footballville model.”

The next tournament will be May 18 at USF.  Make-A-Play 7v7 provides exposure for the participants in a variety of social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram on Footballville Nation.

“We try to create Highlights for everybody,” said Streeter.  “We give every team some exposure and every tournament we have a top performers list.  Footballville is followed by major colleges so it’s a great opportunity to get recruited.”

Make-A-Play 7v7 records at least one full game of every team live.  Footballville will also highlight players of each tournament which have at least 50 D-1 prospects on average attending.  Multiple awards are given to the top performers.

The first tournament was held in February in Fort Myers and traveled to Tampa, Miami, Boca, and Tennessee.

“I just feel seven on seven is going to keep growing,” said Streeter.  “There are teams everywhere nationwide and we are all going to follow suit.  It took some hard work to get going but it’s all paying off to see the kids happy.”

Make-A-Play along with Streeter is run by Derrick Spicer, Head of a ESA a youth tackle football league and Richard Dixon, Co-Founder of South Florida Express.
