Top Five Players At Jamboree In Palm Beach

Palm Beach Gardens, FL — Jamborees are football buffets.  It’s an all-you-can-eat display of football games that football fans feast upon.  Saturday at Palm Beach Gardens High School, nine teams matched each other for two quarters apiece.  For scouts and media, it’s the perfect opportunity to see just how talented teams are going into the following regular football season.

Here are some of the players that stood out on Saturday:

Top Five Players

Nathanial Joseph, WR, Miami Edison (5-10, 165)

The 2023 playmaker may be the most explosive player in the state and could argue the country.  Joseph, better known as “Ray Ray,” has reliable hands and is most dangerous in the open field on short and intermediate routes. He’s good for at least one ‘wow’ moment during a game and he gave us two Saturday.

Joseph is currently rated as a four-star prospect, but his play conveys that he is a five-star player.   Joseph will visit Clemson in the summer but Miami will likely make a push for the talented wideout.  Miami Hurricanes offensive coordinator Josh Gattis was present for the entire day and was thoroughly impressed with Joseph.

Anthony Colandrea, QB, Lakewood (St. Petersburg) (5-11, 175)

By far the most impressive quarterback on the day.  The 2023 signal-caller threw for seven touchdowns and totaled over 600 yards of offense.  Also impressive was his ability to get yards with legs.  Colandrea made some spectacular plays both in and out of the pocket throwing the football.  Whether he was on balance or off-balance, Colandrea was able to deliver with precision.  The upcoming senior plans to take unofficial visits to Virginia, Western Kentucky, Arkansas State as well as Middle Tennessee to which he is committed.

Stanquan Clark, LB, Miami Killian (6-2, 215)

The sure tackler was arguably the best at his position on the day.  The senior was in on several tackles and made his presence felt in four quarters of football.  Clark was able to achieve the triple play with a forced fumble, recovery, and touchdown to make sure all noticed how dominant he can be.

He has the ideal size and speed for the position and is very instinctive.  Clark holds offers from West Virginia and NC State, but Miami will likely jump in the mix as linebackers coach Charlie Strong was on hand and was utterly impressed with his play Saturday.

Sincere Rodriguez, RB, Stranahan (5-11, 200)

Appears to be an ideal bulldozing type of running back based on size, but the senior has the ability to avoid defenders and has the speed to turn small gains into big chunk plays.  Rodriguez also is not afraid of contact in the slightest.  The native of Puerto Rico uses his wide frame to carry himself and others for extra yards after contact.  Rodriguez picked up an off from Akron this week.

Montravious Lloyd – ATH, Lakewood (St. Petersburg) (6-0, 205)

Just a tremendous athlete.  Has the potential to be an elite running back on the next level based on his size and speed.  The Spartans lined him up at wide receiver and put his pass-catching ability on full display.  He took on defenders head-on and seems to enjoy powering his way through would-be tacklers.  He currently holds power five offers from West Virginia, Florida State, Wake Forest, and Pittsburgh.  He has an official visit with Pitt set for the summer.  Lloyd would like to get back to Florida State, Arizona, and Wake Forest.  He is currently being recruited mostly to play defensive back.

Honorable Mentions

Jamari Haynes, WR, Plantation (5-10, 165)

Besides Joseph, he was the most electric player on the field Saturday.  Wearing the number one, viewers could not help but compare him to the Jacolby George, now with the Miami Hurricanes, who wore the same number for Plantation.  His track speed put defenders on notice and was good for plenty of yards after the catch.

Jacorey Barney Jr., Miami Palmetto (6-0, 160)

Scored two touchdowns and was a solid defender causing several pass breakups.  Was open on several plays creating separation from defenders.

Gabe Hardman, Miami Palmetto (5-11, 205)

The heart and soul of the panther defense.  Hardman had an interception and a forced fumble and was in on several tackles Saturday.

Dwight Bootle, Miami Killian (5-10, 165)

The Nebraska commit came down with two interceptions on the day and was arguably the best cover corner of all nine teams on the day.

Other Notable Standouts

Jaquan Reid, ATH, Miami Southridge (6-0, 165)

Andrew Hinds, LB, Stranahan (6-4, 285)

Allen Archie, LB, Stranahan (6-1, 205)

Willis McGahee IV, Edge, Miami Palmetto (6-2, 215)

Hezekiah “Champ” Harris, QB, Miami Edison (6-2, 180)

Other News and Notes

Robby Williams, 2023 Athlete, and Miami Hurricanes commit, hurt his ankle early and did not see much playing time.  He was later seen walking with crutches.

Hykeem Williams, 2023 Athlete, considered one of the top players in Florida had a few catches for short gains.

Derrick Bohler, 2023, Wide Receiver, and transfer from Texas, was injured when his leg was planted on the turf. Bohler has a ton of promise and will be a threat along with Barney if he can return this season.
