Local Playmaker Stays Home With The Hurricanes

Posted in:

When four-star wide receiver Nathaniel Joseph (Miami Edison, FL) decided to de-commit from Clemson on June 14th, many assumed that the Miami Hurricanes would be in the driver’s seat to keep the dynamic talent home.

Today it’s official.

Joseph, more commonly known as “Ray Ray,” committed to the University of Miami Tuesday evening via social media post.  The 2023 talent committed over Louisville, the only school to get an official visit since his de-commitment.

After his official visit to Miami over the weekend, Joseph announced that he would make his decision via Twitter.  The announcement came just a day after elite quarterback four-star Jaden Rashada (Pittsburg, CA) announced his pledge to the Hurricanes after his mid-week visit to Coral Gables.

“They let me know I’m wanted,” said Joseph.  “They did their job on the visit.”

Scouting Report

A master at creating yards after the catch.  Dangerous against zone or man coverage as his speed enables him to get into open spaces.  Has hands that you can depend on in critical moments.  Will give defenses fits as he works well in pre-snap motion and must be accounted for on every play.  Can also excel in kick and punt return.  Can compete for playing time right away at the power-five level.

What This Means for the Hurricanes

Joseph is the fourth four-star prospect to commit to the Miami Hurricanes for the 2023 cycle.  Miami remains in play for other South Florida playmakers three-star Andy Jean, four-star Jalen Brown and five-star Hykeem Williams.  Joseph is the second receiver to commit to the class along with four-star Robby Washington (Miami Palmetto, FL)

Miami’s recruiting class ranked 37th in the nation going into Tuesday.  Miami gained four commits in the last month with Rashada, four-star tight end Jackson Carver (Windsor, CT), three-star quarterback Emory Williams (Milton, FL), and three-star tight end Reid Mikeska (Cypress, TX)
