It’s time for the nation’s largest platform for Middle School athletes in the country looking to compete in high school to gain college scholarships and play at the Division I level.

The 10th National Middle Lineman Challenge presented by Football Hotbed is hosting its LEGACY event and we couldn’t be more excited about our annual gathering on one of the nation’s largest exposure platforms, Football Hotbed dot com. It all started with our Future 4 quarterback competition in 2015 and expanded to include skill players and competition on a college campus in 2016 at the University of Miami. In 2017, with the addition of the 8th-grade class of 2021, the event was now complete and included every athlete on the field (except specialists) as linemen were added to the two-day showcase camp. There is no other camp like it in the country.

What makes our event special is getting middle school kids to work out in front of college coaches without older prospects around. This focuses solely on them and allows their talents to take center stage.  Because National Middle School Invitational Showcase participants come from all over the country, being elite on this platform can come with a boatload of opportunities afterward.

This year we will be hosting our camp at a college campus on Day 1 as always and at a local high school on Day two. It will be in Coral Gables, FL on June 13 at the University of Miami on day one and at local high school in the Fort Lauderdale, FL metro area on day two on June 14, 2024.

This event has launched dozens of careers and provided college football resumes for some top names. The first year of the Future 4 produced three Division One players in the Top 4 of the 2019 class.  Overall, 16/32 quarterbacks in the class of 2019 went on to play Division 1 football. The MVP, Spencer Rattler is about to enter the NFL draft, fresh off being name the Senior Bowl MVP after a great career at the University of South Carolina (via Oklahoma), runner-up Griffin Helm is a graduate of New Hampshire (played WR) and Dalen Menard is finishing up at New Haven college after stops at Boston College and Bowling Green.

All were on full athletic scholarships and all at the Division I level.

Just a few short months ago, University of Texas offensive lineman Hayden Conner, a National Middle School Lineman Challenge bloodline member played for a college football national championship in the playoffs with his team as a starting lineman.  Connor helped lead his team to a one-loss regular season and a College Football Playoff birth. Recently, he got engaged so we are wishing him and his fiancé the best. Wow, how time flies!

Guys Jacorey Brooks from Louisville (via Alabama) have all been a part of the National MS Invitational Showcase as well as recent Oregon (via UCLA) enrollee at quarterback, Dante Moore and Duke QB Maalik Murphy (via Texas).

What the National Middle School Invitational Showcase has meant to so many is truly incredible.

In 2016, the first year of skill players and linemen, the running back MVP, Chris Tyree is a graduate of Notre Dame, a national power, and now spending a grad transfer year at The University of Virginia near his hometown of Richmond. The defensive back MVP Rashad Torrance spent the 2023 NFL season on a practice squad after a successful career at the University of Florida.

The overall MVP, best athlete award, went to Avante Williams who is now at Maryland after beginning his career at the University of Miami. But he, like his counterparts all used their time at the National Middle School Invitational Showcase to prove that they were elite.

Other Division I players from the first year’s 2019 class include Brian Mauer (Tennessee/Stephen F. Austin), Michael Kern (Wake Forrest), Daniel Richardson (Central Michigan/FAU/FAMU), Nik Scalzo (Kentucky/Samford), Kyle Terry (Army), Curt Casteel (Harvard), Adam Cecere (Wake Forrest) for Baseball, Peyton Brown (College of DuPage), Preston Colbert (Cornell), Deon Jones (Chardon State)
