They are who we thought they were!  St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale) sent a strong a reminder to the state of Florida that they are force to be reckoned with for the 7A state title once again.  The Raiders dominated Deerfield Beach from the opening whistle and did not allow the Bucks to get any momentum whatsoever.  Linebacker Anthony Solomon scored two touchdowns in a 38-6 rout.

In the panhandle, the game of the area was clearly Navarre versus Escambia which did not disappoint.  Junior running back Frank Peasant of Escambia, rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter.  Navarre attempted to keep up in the game, but was held to four turnovers on downs as they suffered their first loss of the season.

Apopka and West Orange (Winter Garden) suffered disappointing losses putting both teams at two losses a piece on the season.  Mandarin (Jacksonville) held the Blue Darters to 157 yards rushing to get a 21-7 victory, while Avarius Sparrow behind 174 yards and three touchdowns, lead a strong ground game for Jones (Orlando) to surpass the Warriors 41-31.

In a battle of two defending state champions, 7A destroyed 2A.  Venice demolished Champagnat Catholic (Hialeah) 58-6 on the west coast of Florida.  Venice held the Lions to negative rushing yards in the first half as they cruised to victory.
